Today is hashtag#CensusDay! I encourage you and everyone to be counted and fill out the 2020 Census. Over the next decade, the 2020 Census data will be used to make critical national, state and local decisions.
The results highlight where communities need new schools, new clinics, new roads, and much more. As stated on the 2020 Census website, "The results will also inform how hundreds of billions of dollars in federal funding are allocated to more than 100 programs, including Medicaid, Head Start, block grants for community mental health services, and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, also known as SNAP."
No matter where you work, if you work or how you work there are a few action items you can take TODAY to encourage others to complete the Census.
First, let everyone know how easy it is to access and take it. It can be completed online, by phone or mail. Visit www.2020census.gov to learn more.
Second, don't hesitate to join the online hashtag#CensusChallenge. Make your voice heard. Encourage your community to call 888-Count20 if they have additional questions.
